As we push through the garden gate of the old homestead,
we are surprised at how much smaller things are than we remembered them,
and how much work needs to be done.

Tombstone Tuesday Porter Descendant
Gerorge Lawrence Vance and Wife Susan Barbara Vance grandson of John G Porter. Interesting Susan has a second tombstone just behind the dual tombstone. She died in 1916 and he died in 1928.
This is an interesting headstone-- in placement, but also the wording. I don't often see a "Mrs." on the headstone. Makes one wonder if they were a couple that said to one another: "Good morning, Mrs. Vance" "And good morning to you, Mr. Vance"
Looking at George and Susan's picture I would say you could be correct. Mr and Mrs salutations. Interestingly she was Susan Barbara, but I notice the children put Barbara on the dual stone. My mother in law called her Barbara and that was a stumbling block at first. Thanks for coming by
