Frost the cake.

This cake I made for  the first time when the Hero and I were visiting with a some close friends Dave and Pat Thatcher.  Pat, a nurse, was working 3pm - 11pm shift at the hospital.  I made supper to lighten her load.  The fragrance of the cake cooking, and the melt in your mouth taste was a hit with all of the family.
Dave and the Hero are gone now. Pat was institutionalized for Dementia at 55.  I miss them all.
