Barbara, This is my grandfather H O Whitson. He and his brothers served in the Philippines during the Spanish American War. I haven't sent for his records, which I need to do, but since finances are a challenge I have to slowly order documents.
Ok, I have to ask, what is this all about? Was your father in the war? Mine was, and I always heard he was in the Phillipines on the "Yorktown."
